Frequently Asked Questions

  • An individual therapy session goes for 53 minutes and costs $230.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I am not paneled with any insurance companies, and I do not interact with insurance companies on behalf of my clients.

  • You can seek reimbursement with your insurance through Mentaya, who will be in contact with insurance for you and get you reimbursement if you qualify. Please see the services page to calculate your potential reimbursement rate for my services.

  • Payment is processed at the beginning of each session, and I accept most major credit cards. Cancellations done with less than 24 hour notice will be charged at the full rate.

  • Health care providers are required by law to provide a Good Faith Estimate to you if you do not have or are not using insurance, which will explain how much services will cost. You can request it anytime before or during treatment. Make sure it is provided to you in writing at least one business day before your appointment. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of services. If you receive a bill $400 or greater than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. About Therapy

  • If you’re here, it means that you’re curious and open to the process and benefits that therapy can provide. Therapy is a collaborate effort between the client and therapist to work on agreed upon goals, and it is definitely not a one-fits-all process.

  • If you call and/or meet with me and decide that I am not a good fit, that is okay! I will be more than happy to help you find a therapist that fits your needs.

  • Many clients ask, “When will I know that I’m done with therapy?” This is unique for everyone and there is no set time, but if the client and their parents or guardians see an improvement at home and at school, then it is something we can talk about together and make a plan for.

  • While I do provide Art Therapy, it is not mandatory to do art in session. If you would rather just talk, that is absolutely fine.

  • If you opt to do telehealth (only for residents of California), you can still do Art Therapy in session. I offer to send each of my telehealth clients a box of basic art supplies, at no extra charge, that we would use in session and that you would be able to keep. I can mail you the art supplies, or you can pick them up from my office in Huntington Beach.

  • My office hours are 9 am - 9 pm, Monday - Friday. Please allow me 24 hours to respond. If you reach out to me on Friday, please note that I will get back to you by Monday.

  • If there is an emergency or you are in a crisis, please call 911 or 988, or go to your local emergency room, as I will be unable to offer immediate support.
